Even though embarking on their maiden continental campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Missing star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable result that all but secures them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
Another three points in their next match against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct passage to the last 16, especially following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Seize the Moment
This match provided a chance for several Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a well-taken finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second game in match.
The Shelbourne side that had concluded their league season were no match against a largely second-string Palace outfit. The visitors were further weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg injuries.

Despite torrential rain in Dublin, Palace quickly established dominance. A flowing passing sequence in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's incisive pass, let Nketiah to lay on Uche for a simple tap-in.
Midfielder Adam Wharton went close minutes later, fizzing a long-range effort over the bar. Nketiah then appealed for a penalty after bursting into the area, but the referee dismissed the protests.
The formerArsenal striker did not have wait long to get his goal, tapping home from a yard out after Uche's effort had struck the post.
The home side were hanging on desperately. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for two agricultural challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the woodwork with a powerful header from a corner.

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
